Madison

I have to say that May can be such a crazy month, almost as busy as December.  There was to much going on to keep up.  Here are a few things Madison was up to last month.
She is always such a great big sister.  Much of the time Allie prefers her to me.  This picture above is a common sight, Madison entertaining Allie and I appreciate her help so much.

She also played softball and fell completely in love with it.  She has played since she was in first grade, but realized this year that it is so much fun.  She pitched in almost every game and learned to pitch strikes very often.  Her next favorite place to play was short stop and her least favorite was catcher. She hit 3 home runs in the season and switched it up by batting both right and left.  She still goes around carrying a mitt and ball and had decided that she is going to learn to pitch both right and left handed.  We will see if it lasts, but right now she is obsessed.
I went down stairs one morning to find these two asleep.  Madison had taken Allie down to play and they both must have been worn out because a half hour later they were both asleep.   It didn't last long, so I am glad I got a picture.
Before school was out the 4th grade went on a field trip to Capitol Reef.  It was such a fun day.  We went on a hike, played games
and learned about what it was like for the kids who went to school in the old school house.  The weather turned out to be perfect.  I am so glad that I got to go with her.
She danced in her recital and was as beautiful as always.  She loves to dance and is still dancing this summer, four mornings a week.
This was the last day of school.  She had a great year.  She loved her teacher and was so excited to go everyday.  She also learned so much.  She was in the advanced early morning math program and earned a presidential award for education for scoring so high on her end of year testing, and she still hasn't missed a spelling word.  She works hard and enjoys learning.  We are so proud of her.

She also performed in her piano recital.  She played the song Cookoo.  She played so well and although she complains a lot about having to practice and go to lessons but I think she really likes it and enjoys being able to sit and play.
