August so far..

So far August has been pretty busy, and I know that it will get even more crazy with school starting this Wednsday. We are trying to squeze every drop of fun out of our summer. This past weekend we were able to go to a Conder family reunion (Toms moms family). We went and stayed at a girls camp in Heber City that is owned by the church. It was such a neat place to vist. I am always blown away to see how many different properties the church owns. Each family had their own cabin to stay in. The one drawback was that none of the bunkbeds had pads on them so we spent the night sleeping on a sheet of plywood, so Tom and I didn't sleep at all, but it surly didn't bother the kids. There was a lake at the camp so we got to go out in a canoe and paddle aroud it the kids loved it and the canoe was pretty steady. There was a sand box on the beach that the kids loved to play in. On saturday we were suppose to do a challenge couse but due to the rain we spent the day playing bingo with m&ms. We also played the newleywed game and I am proud to say that we tied for 1st place! If we had only know the color of eachothers toothburshes we would have had it. It was a good time, and Madison found a friend in Toms cousin Amy. When she found out that Amy was Toms cousin not hers we as shocked. It was great to see people that we only see every few years.

We went to the county fair! It was fun to see all of the animals. There was even a bear show with huge black bears. The kids got the pet some of the animals and watch some noisy pigs fight. They also got to learn how to be a farmer by picking apples, gathering eggs, and digging up potatoes. There were also animals there from the local animal shelter and the kids were sure that we needed a new puppy, I was able to talk them out of it, but just barely.

Madison got her ears pierced! She has been begging for about a year and we decided that when she turned 8 she could get them done, so she has been 8 for a few months and she talked us into it. She choose emerald earings because they are her birthstone. She didn't even wince she was very brave and it very good at taking care of her ears. I am still in shock that she is 8!

very little sleep
great company!

Camping

We finally made it camping this summer, and we had a great time. We went up 12 mile canyon and did more fishing than we have done in years. It was fun becasue they were actually biting, well they were biting for everyone else. Each of the kids got to reel in a fish so they were satisfied. If you look at the pictures Emma and C.J. are both in their underwear. They were getting board and wanted to play in the water so i let them strip down and play the problem was whey they got out they each had these tiny leeches on their feet, it was pretty creepy.

One of my favorite part of camping is making s'mores. I am very particular I will only make them with Jet Puff marshmallows, Hershey's chocolate, and Honey Made graham crackers, i'm wierd, but it is tradition for me and they are sooo yummy, I think that they kids enjoy them too.
It was so relaxing to me in the mountains and get away from it all. It is so green and a ton of wildflowers I truly enjoy caming, and it is definatly better with a trailer.

It's Hot Outside

This is how we have been keeping cool. Last week we spent the day at the Salina Pool. It was a lot of fun. There is nothing like an out door pool on a 100+ day. The kids swam for hours, I think that this is one of the only ways to actually enjoy this heat. It was so fun to have Shayla, Emily, and Taylor go with us.

We also went the Sand Hollow a few weeks ago. It was kind of windy so the skiing and wake boarding weren't the best but after missing a summer of being on the lake we were ready for some fun. The kids just loved jumping out of the boat while we were in the middle and swimming around, Madison even said that she was ready to learn to ski, but we need to find some small ski's first. Thanks to the Rasmussen Family for letting us come and spend the weekend with them, we need to do it again soon.

4th of July

Here are just of few of the pictures we took on the 3rd and 4th of July.

On the 3rd we always have a Primary Parade. In our ward we decorated bikes and painted faces. It was a lot of fun. On the 4th we went to the Parade and then headed up to Fishlake where my nephew Joshua was baptized. It was such a neat experience. While we were at Fishlake it started to rain and then hail. When we finally left there was about 2 inches of hail/snow on our car. Talk about two extremes in one day. It went for 95-41 on the same day, it was crazy. We ended the day with fireworks and ice cream. What a fabulous holiday.

Snapshots of Disney

We had a great time on our vacation. We were gone for 7 days we spent 5 of those in Disneyland/California Adventure park. We had such a great time. The kids were great and it was fun to just spend that time together as a family. We were also able to go to and Angels game, they played the Seattle Mariners and won in the last inning when they were down by 4. We also spent some time at the beach the weather wasn't great but it was a good time.

Dance, baby dance

The girls had their dance recital the end of May. They did such a great job. It was so fun to watch them dance up on the stage with smiles on their faces and so much personality. They each did tap and ballet dances. Madison danced to zippity-do-da, Lion King, I wanna be a rockett, and Mulan. Emma danced to 5 Positions and Baby Face. It was great to see Emma up there jumping and tapping, at one point I thought that dancing might not be a option for her, but she loves it and enjoys it so much.
