happy happy and Easter

I guess I never realized when Allie was born on the 7th of April that there would be times when her birthday would fall on Easter. Not that it is a bad thing but it just makes for a busy time.  Her birthday was the day before Easter this year.  It was a fun day.
We woke her up with her breakfast favorite of pancakes with "bipit" syrup.  She kept looking at us like were were crazy as we sang Happy Birthday to her.
Following a mini celebration we headed down to see if the Easter Bunny had stopped at our house. The bunny always makes a stop at our house on friday night becasue there is no way he/she (the gender of the eb is still under debate at our house) can hop to everyones house in one night.
This little one didn't care to much about her basket of treats just the fact that she had 3 binks and her favorite blanket made it a good morning for her.
Emma was excited to get some new clothes and treats from the EB.

Madison was happy with her loot
and C.J. was excited about his mini football.
Emma had a present for Allie to open that morning, then we were off to G&G Bogh's house for a day of Easter fun and Birthday celebrations.

We started by making paper boats that were blown across the floor with a fan.  The kids had so much fun.  they were split into age groups.
I would like to say that our kids boats did really well, but that was not the case.  If you want an awesome paper boat ask someone else becasue the boats we helped our kids with didn't make it to far before they tipped over and sank.
It was fun though.
Then we moved on to celebrate Allie turning 2.  she was a bit more excited this time, but the candles were still a little much for her.

Her 2 cherries cake.
After cake we played some BINGO.  As you can tell Allie loved playing, well eating the treats anyway.
C.J. could not get a BINGO and was not shy about letting me know he was not happy about it.
Emma was very intense about the whole game.  The games were a distraction while the eggs where hidden outside.
The hunt was on,  There were tons of eggs to be found.

Tom was incharge of keeping the big kids in the house so the little ones could have a chance to get their eggs first.  This picture shows me that there are probably more big kids than little kids in teh Bogh family now, which is so crazy.  They are all growing up so fast.
Allie kept handing her eggs to grandpa.  He would open each one and show her what was inside and then she would close the egg.  After each egg had been opened and closed several times she took each one and emptied the contents into a box.  She liked playing with the plastic eggs much more than she liked the candy inside.
Easter Sunday.  This was the best picture that I got of all of the kids on Easter Sunday.  Allie was acting crazy and would not hold still.  She didn't want to stand by the big kids she just wanted to be by herself.

As soon as I snapped a few pictures the big kids ran in the house to change their clothes. Allie didn't mind letting me take a few pictures of her by herself.
Happy Easter and Happy Birthday baby Allie.

She's 2

I am still a little bit in a state of shock to the fact that my sweet baby is 2 years old.  Where did the time go.  Each year just flies by faster than the next.

From this (6 weeks)

to this (1 year)

to now (2 years)

Really I still feel like I should be using that excuse that 'I just had a baby' to explain why I haven't been on top of things the way I should, or why my house is a mess.
We love this little lady so much.  She is always happy and easy going as long as she gets what she wants and has your full attention, if not then look out 'cause she can throw fits with the best of them.  You could say that she is spolied, but that would be an understatement.

She is still very much a daddy's girl.  When he is home he is the only one in her world.  He has to get her milk and buckle her car seat everything, (I think it is pretty endearing) unless she wants to do it herself.  We hear that a lot 'my do it'.  She still loves her bink and blank and would run free outside at all times if we let her.

She went to the bathroom on the potty 4 times the other day.  Since then nothing, but I am okay with that, I don't think I am ready for that milestone yet, maybe in a few months.
Her favotie food is 'i keem' (ice cream) and she asks for no less than 15 times a day.
She loves to wear dresses and skirts and likes to pick out what to wear.
She loves to read books especailly ones with animals in them, she loves to make all the animal sounds.
She has to know where everyone is at all times. Every morning she asks 'wheres emma, wheres cj, wheres mammy, where daddy go?'
Every morning she wants to go bye bye.  She will put her shoes on and head for the door.  When I ask where we are going she says bye bye with daddy.  She loves that man so much.
She likes to snuggle and watch 'pat pat' (Little Einsteins).
She loves to draw on everything.  None of our other kids have ever written on the walls.  I find new pen and pencil marks on a daily basis.
Her favorite game is tickle she will chase you around and say tickle tickle and if she gets you then you can ticlke her back.  She loves it when the kids run away from her, she thinks it is so funn.
My favorie is when she asks for a hug and kiss.  She is so loving and sweet.
I love that she has a little bit of natural curl in her hair.  I don't know how long it will last, but it is so cute.
And her long eyelashes.  When she was born she didn't have and I was kind of worried, stupid I know, but they are so long now, dark at the base and blond at the ends, just like mine.  They make all of her silly face pulling that much more endearing.
The other day C.J. told me he knew who the 'real boss' was at our house he said it was Allie and he is exactly right.  Happy Birthday to my favorite 2 year old.

Sweets

This is just a day before she turned 2.  I almost want to cry when I look at these pictures because the time has gone by wayyyy to fast.  This little girl is a sugar addict.  My mom brought these peeps over, they are one of my favorite Easter treats.  I don't like them as much for the other holidays, I think they should go back to making them only for Easter. Anyway, this little girl has a thing for marshmallows and these peeps were no exception, but she would only eat the ears.  She ate the ears off each one and then told me they were all gone, pretty funny.
She also wanted me to take a picture of her with her 'bawoon'.  When we were at the grocery store earlier in the day there was an older man behind us in line at the checkout that was just raving about how cute she was.  She just kept smiling and waving at him. So when he told the cashier she was the cutest thing he had ever seen the cashier asked how old she was.  I told her that Allie would be 2 the very next day. They insisted on giving her a balloon.  She was so excited and packed it around all day. I have to agree that she is pretty dang cute and if you get a free balloon for that what more can you ask for?

Spring Break

The next day we headed off to the dinosaur museum.  I expected to be there for a few hours, but the kids enjoyed it so much that we spent 5 hours there. We learned a lot about dinosaurs and C.J. was really excited that he got to touch petrified dinosaur poop.  Boys and their interest.
The three big kids are running away from the Utah raptor.  Allie wanted nothing to do with any of the dinosaurs.  She would point and say "ewwww blech".  For most of the time she was content to just sit in the stroller and take it all in.

This was their other favorite dinosaur.  They wanted to take it home as a pet.
I love C.J.'s face in this picture he is such a silly boy.
The dinosaur dig was a favorite place for everyone.  Madison would uncover the fossils and Allie would throw sand back on them to cover them up, it was pretty funny.  We had a great day! (and ignore the red eyes in all the pictures the lighting in there was so bad and I am just to lazy to fix it, sorry.)

Spring Break

The next day we headed 'up North' and the first thing on our to-do list was for Emma to get her ears pierced.  She would ask me about every other day when she was going to get it done.  But she had very specific criteria.  She wanted to get them pierced at the same place Madison did and she didn't want her own birth stone which is a garnet, she wanted blue, so she went with the December birthstone of aquamarine.
after the first ear, she said she wanted to cry but didn't

All done.  She kept saying "I feel so different" It was cute and she is so excited to have them pierced.  Now she just has to wait the long 6 weeks until she can wear earings that she wants to wear.
That night we went swimming at our hotel.  These crazy little fish of ours jumped right in the freezing pool.  It didn't seem to bother them.

The hot tub on the other hand was so hot we could hardly stand that one either.  But the kids had a great time and it wore them out so they slept really well that night.

Spring Break

We were excited to finally have our spring break the few days before Easter.  So to kick it off we colored eggs.  G and G Bogh had given us some fresh eggs from their chickens, so they were already brown, tan and green, so when C.J. came to the table and opened the carton he was so disappointed and said "you colored all the eggs without me." It was pretty funny as I tried to explain that not all eggs are white.
No matter what we try the kids always end up with grayish green hands from the dye.  I kept telling them to use the spoons, but they didn't care .

We got all of the eggs colored, even the ones that were already colored to being with.  This is a tradition that I have a love/hate relationship with.  This year actually went pretty well, none of the dye was spilled and I think Allie only threw 3 eggs on the floor.  I will say it was a success!
