School is in session

That's right school has begun. I was not ready at all. I love having the kids home with me all day, I love going to bed late and sleeping in, but we knew it would come to an end all to quickly. Here are a few pictures of the big girls in their new duds.

Emma wasn't sure she wanted to go back, even after the first day (yesterday) she only thought it was alright, but after today she thinks it is pretty great. I think she will like it better when she has an actual class room and can eat in the lunch room. The school is under construction so for the time being her class is held in a trailer.

Madison has wanted to go back to school since summer started so she was really excited. She had had her backpack ready for weeks and couldn't sleep the night before, I remember those days, I hope she will continue to love school and learning.
Here's to a great year of school, only 2 days in and I am already feeling sleep deprived.

Cereal

We decided to try and give Allie rice cereal for breakfast a few days ago. I haven't ever had luck with my kids eating the cereal so I was expecting her to hate it, I was wrong.

There wasn't a gag, grimace, or groan, she loved it. I am pretty sure more of it was on her bib than actually in her stomach, but she renewed my hope that some kids do, in fact, eat (the other three were terrible eaters at this age) maybe the fact that I added juice to the cereal helped.
Way to go Allie!

More camping pictures.

Yes we went camping again

We shot more guns..

ate more s'mores..

got really dirty playing in the mountains...

and riding 4-wheelers. This is the life!

Fair 2010

It's fair time. I love going to the fair there is just something about it that screams tradition to me, and I tend to be very traditional. This top picture is at the farming activity for the kids. They got dig up a potato, pick an apple, gather an egg, and even milk a cow, the prize...a blue ribbon of course! It was fun to go with Leslie and her two cute kids and uncle Garb.

I love the expression on her face with all of her missing teeth.

He loved riding this tractor.

Madison also danced at the fair and did a great job. She has been going to dance classes this summer and since she is our child that has to have an agenda it has been great for her, the fact that many of her friends are in her class may have something to do with it.

4 months

Allie is 4 months old, time just flies. She is still such a good baby. She is smiling all the time, lets out a little giggle every once in a while and will even put up with tummy time.

We celebrated by getting her a bumbo seat. She is not quite sure how much she likes it, but since she loves watching what is going on all the time I am sure it won't be too long before she wants to be in it all the time.

She also had her first pedicure. The big girls were painting their toe nails and were sure Allie needed hers done too. Her feet were so wiggly but we got it accomplished and they looked pretty stinkin' cute.

Finally Boating

We finally took the boat out and it just reminded me how much fun it is to play in the water. We went with my brother Trevor and his wife Alissa and their new sweet baby boy, Gavin. Toms niece Shayla and nephew Skyler also got to come with us. We went to Gunnison Res. Although the water was a nasty brown color we had a great time. The clouds threatened to rain all afternoon but it held off until we were finished.

All the kids wanted to do was stop the boat and swim or ride on the tube. The girls have turned into such little fish, they jumped off the side of the boat over and over again.

C.J. is not as brave in the water as he used to be. Sad how time makes you more afraid, but he loved riding on the boat.

I love this picture of the babies in their giant life jackets. They were both so good on the boat I think the sound and the movement made them feel like they were back in the womb. It was such a fun day.

The next day my niece Alexis was blessed by her dad. Isn't my sister gorgeous and the sweet babies are pretty cute too. It is going to be so much fun to watch these two girls grow up together.

Shoe Love

It starts at a young age, the love of shoes. As soon as I put these darling silver ballet flats on Allie's pudgy little feet she was fascinated by them. She took them off her feet and put them right in her mouth. What can I say the shoes must have looked good enough to eat.

Toothless

Emma continues to loose teeth a process that seems to take several days. She wiggles and wiggles the tooth and agonizes over it for days until it finally falls out. This was on Wednesday...

This was on Friday, she spent Thursday night wiggling and playing with her tooth. Finally at 11 p.m. she let Tom put some floss on the tooth and with a little help the tooth was popped out. She looks so cute and I love that she whistles when she talks, but I hate that soon these empty spaces will be filled with grown-up teeth, which means she is getting older and smarter everyday. I think that the tooth fairy at our house will soon be broke.

Happy 24th

Our traditional 24th was spent in Mayfield.

We had a Bogh Family reunion over the 24th weekend and this is a picture of all the grandkids (minus the Wallace boys) at the parade. We had such a fun time in Mayfield with all the family. We played games, played in the water, went on a jeep/4-wheeler/4-runner ride, played minute-to win-it games, watched movies on the side of the house and ate lots of great food. We had such a fun weekend it was great to spend time with everyone.

12 mile

We have talked about it before, but we actually did it, we spent almost an entire week camping. The thought of it was pretty daunting, but we survived and even had some fun while we were at it.

This little lady was so good. She slept about 10 hours each night we were camping and was content to be toted wherever we went, she especially loved riding on the 4-wheeler. She is already an outdoor girl.

Let me paint you a picture of this moment... Madison is trying to fish and is complaining that she can't cast her pole far enough...Emma singing about who knows what while throwing rocks in the water... Jake (you can see him if you look close) is barking like crazy because he was tied up to a tree so that he would stay out of the water... Tom is fixing a tangled fishing pole, the third tangled pole... C.J. is running around and whining that his fishing pole isn't working... I am sitting on a very uncomfortable rock while Allie is screaming to get out of her car seat. I knew that I needed a picture to remember this moment, we had a great time, but we also had our moments. And after all this we never caught a fish.

Our last day of camping some of the Rasmussen cousins came to visit. We made a teeter-totter to play on at our camp site. Madison and Kaylee were having some fun on it.

This brings us to the gun, I know that it is only a BB gun, but does a 4 year old really need one? Apparently C.J. does Tom bought him a gun right after he was born, and our neighbors gave him this one, so there must be an unwritten rule about boys having guns.

Emma took a few shots then she was done

Madison on the other hand could not get enough, she wanted to shoot all the time. All I can say is watch out "Top Shot" this girl can give you a run for your money, or running for cover. We should probably make her take hunters safety.
