Easter Sunday

Here are some pictures of the kids on Easter Sunday. I really wanted to get some good ones of them in their Easter clothes, but they just wanted to play on the swing set. Tom spent all of Saturday putting it together, and now a week later they still can not get enough of it. They are always out in the backyard on the swing set, I am so glad that we have grass for them to play on. It has been a long winter, so to let them go out and play is wonderful. The girls love the swings, and of course Emma now calls the swing she is on the horsey swing, and C.J. loves to slide. No matter what park we go to he is the brave one and tries everything, it makes me so sad to see him growing up so fast. These kids are amazing and I love them so much! Happy Easter

Easter Baskets

The first thing C.J. did when he found his basket was go straight for the candy (the chocolate anyway, he must have learned from me), he did this last year, and on every holiday, we always have pictures of him with chocolate all over his face, and yes he still loves his hat.
Madison was so excited about the movie Enchanted. We loved it when we saw it in the theater. She was also happy to get pajamas for her doll Nicki that she got for Chirstmas. She has worried every night since Christmas that Nicki was sad because she didn't have proper Pajamas, so we were all relieved and don't have to worry any more.
Here are some pictures of the kids finding their easter baskets. Emma got the cutest little bunny family, and she really loves to play with them, but one of the comments out of her mouth was,
"Why didn't the Easter Bunny bring me a horse, doesn't she know that I love horses?" I guess this girl will never have to many horses.

Easter Party

Yesterday we had a little neighborhood Easter Party. The kids had a great time. They all made Easter bunny sacks out of lunch bags, decorated cupcakes to look like birds nests and then had an egg hunt in the backyard. It was a lot of fun. Lots of candy to go around. As you can see from the picture there are a lot of girls in our neighborhood. We had thirteen kids there and only 3 were boys. We love our neighborhood we have great friends here and there is always someone around for the girls to play with.

Coloring Easter Eggs

On Monday night for FHE we colored Easter Eggs. It is always interesting to see how things turn out with 3 crazy kids. C.J. kept trying to stir his eggs in the cups and would spill the dye all over or he would try to take the eggs out or put them in on his own, so finally we put him on sticker duty. We had some Cars stickers that he was suppose to put on the eggs but most of them ended up on his forehead or on the counter, but at least he was occupied. The girls did really well this year they wanted the eggs to be perfect as usually so they took their time and did rainbow eggs and some with writing on them. It was fun to see them trying to figure out what they wanted to egg to look like and then get it to that point. Sometimes the egg was totally different than they had expected, but it was a great time!

Rolling Easter Eggs

Saturday we went rolling Easter Eggs. We just went above Richfield by the water tank. We rolled the eggs down the hill once and there was nothing left. We went with some of our neighbors and had a great time. The dad's hid some plastic eggs on a trail and as we walked along it the kids found the eggs that were full of treats and money, I think this trip was mostly it was an excuse to take the 4-wheelers out, but it was fun. C.J. didn't care much about rolling the eggs as he did throwing them. He would throw them as hard as he could and then watch them bounce down the hill it was pretty funny.Also, when we were waling a long the trail gathering eggs a jackrabbit ran out of the bushes, and the kids are convinced that it was the Easter Bunny.

SLC Temple.

When we went to SLC we also went to Temple Square. Here are some pictures of the kids by the Temple. (sorry it looks like the temple is tipping over, I was trying to get a good picture, but the kids didn't cooperate very well, and there were a bunch of people waiting to walk in between us, so this is the best one i was able to get) I loved taking the kids there. When we went in the visitors center and walked up where the statue of the Savior stands the were all in awe and very reverent, for a minute anyway. the spirit is amazing and I could see that it had touched them even if it was for just a moment. We then headed back out the the temple grounds so that C.J. could run around. There were flowers blooming and people getting married it was a lot of fun!

Hip X-rays.

These are the x-rays that Emma had taken at her Dr.'s appointment. They take all of their x-ray's with digital cameras now, so they gave us a print out of them. I thought that was so cool. I will kind of explain. The first one shows the angle of the head of her femur related to her socket. We want for the angle to decrease as she continues to grow and heal. In the past 6 months her angles have gone from about 28 to 25 on both sides. The Doctor says that is great progress and, so we are happy. The second picture is of the metal plate and screws that she still has in her right leg. We were hoping that the dr. would decide to take them out soon, but she said she wanted to wait another year to do that, so now we are just waiting. She will go back for another appointment in September, we just hope that Emma continues to make such great progress. She is able to do more and more all the time, so we are happy. Another funny thing about these x-rays, every time they took one Emma had this huge smile on her face and would say "cheese", she was so cute.

Grandma and Grandpa Cooper

These are some pictures of Grandma and Grandpa Coopers headstone in Salt Lake City. I think this is the first time that I have seen their headstone. It is beautiful. We went up to Salt Lake on Friday because Emma had a Dr.'s appointment and we decided to go see their headstone. I was so amazed at the spirit that I felt in the cemetery. We were in the middle of such a large city in a huge cemetery, but it was so quite and peaceful. It was amazing. It reminded me of the spirit that grandma always had with her. She was such an amazing person and I am so glad that I, along with my family, got to live so close to her for as long as I can remember. I never knew Grandpa in this life, but I always felt a small connection because we shared the same birthday. I am so glad that I finally got to see their headstone and feel of the spirit that surrounds it.

Arts Festival

These are two of the entries that Madison put in the arts festival at her school this year. She had a lot of fun working on the projects. She took a picture of the huge flag that flies in the park on the north side of Richfield. She also did a watercolor painting of a sun set. She did an awesome job on her projects and we are so proud of her and her hard work. She loves art and any kid of craft. For Christmas she got a Cuttlekids die cutting machine, and she loves it. It keeps her busy for hours. She is very creative and it is so fun to see her express herself through arts and crafts. She is growing up so fast!
